Work visa Dubai

A work visa is required for foreign nationals who wish to work in Dubai. The work visa is issued by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, and it is valid for up to three years.

To get a work visa for Dubai, an employer must sponsor the foreign national. The sponsorship process involves registering the foreign national with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), which approves the work permit and issues a labour card.

The employer must also provide a job offer letter, a copy of the foreign national’s passport, passport-sized photographs, and medical fitness certificate issued by a UAE-approved medical center. The visa fee is paid by the employer.

Once the work visa is issued, the foreign national can enter Dubai and start working for the sponsoring employer. The work visa can be renewed up to three times, subject to approval by the GDRFA.

It is important to note that the work visa does not allow the foreign national to work for any other employer or engage in any other business activity in Dubai. The work visa is tied to the sponsoring employer and the specific job for which it was issued.

Foreign nationals who wish to start their businesses in Dubai can apply for an investor visa, which requires a minimum investment of AED 10,000,000 ($2.7 million). The investor visa allows the foreign national to own a business and reside in Dubai.

Obtaining a work visa for Dubai requires sponsorship by an employer and compliance with the immigration regulations. Foreign nationals must ensure they have valid documents and comply with the visa regulations to avoid any legal complications during their stay in Dubai.
